This is one of my models i have been working on for my 10 asset assignment. It is a pestle and mortar with the smooth preset enabled made within maya, with two cylinders that have been extruded and manipulated in different ways to make two shapes. One for the pestle and one for the mortar itself.

I used a program made by adobe called Substance Painter to allow me to texture the asset itself.

Once its inserted in to substance painter, it is unpacked and modeld in the program to be enabled to painted and textured. I added a fill layer with a mask, applying another fill to that to layer a texture on to it to give it more depth. Once i applied the grunge for the texture layer, i went and added a sub material for an underlayer colour and look. Once i found the material i re edited the texture layer adding a darker grey to it, making the grunge mask standout with its depth and height.
