Another asset design would lead in to a mask, which would help cover the identity of a person if they were assosiating with a magical cult or group that would get lookedupon. The mask of reference would be a dragon priest mask from the game, The elder scrolls V: Skyrim. I would use this same game for a dagger design later.

Dragon Priest Mask

I inserted the reference mask on an image plane in maya so i could acuratly make the shape as i would want to use this same shape for my design however with less detaile in the height and levels of it.

The mask allowed me to experiment with some new tools however i forgot to record the steps of doing making the mask besides using a bend shape.

Using this bend allowed me to manipulate the mask backwards and curve it around giving it more depth than being a flat mask.

While rendering my mask i went through a variety of texture designs. Some being to basic and easy to make with just a smart material applied in substance painter, while others didnt fit the theme or didnt have enough detail to them. Overall i wanted a metal mask design that looked old and worn.

All of these experimental mask designs helped me learn enough about substance painter to make a mask i would go on to like.

The second asset inspired from Skyrim would be my dagger. It would be inspired from the unique dagger in the game called “Keening” It has a more unique design and i would recreate parts of this to make my own version of this dagger for a ornamental design.

Keening

With my version of this dagger i would use an altered version of the handle making the bottom in to more of a point than a rounded circle shape. Alot of this would be done with extruding and mutli-cut lines welded together to give shapes i wanted. As for the blade i made the blade a rectangular shape with a pyramid point, this would help my design look less like a weapon but more ornamental and something that could be used during a ritual, straying away from the games usage.
